a day of mixed blessings
is basically the boiling down of the fact that England won against Trinidad and Tobago and Sweden won against Paraguay. While both may sound nice, it makes Sweden look the duller for merely tying Trinidad and Tobago, though the Caribbeans slugged it out with so many attempts by England in a valiant game. I was all T + T today until the Sweden match. But good shots for Crouch and Gerrard though I disdain you for the completed effort.
Sweden, baarely able to keep Paraguay at bay the entire game was wounded and tired by the end of the night, but victorious, scoring exactly the same that those English boys had against the same team. But, can Sweden pull out again against England on Tuesday? 38 years of not losing to England in World Cup is quite a record to uphold and this time, I would say that for sure England looks stronger coming into the match.
So, a basically bright star is only dimmed by England's victory today. Sunday is Japan, so I may be bringing tissue downtown. Mercy dear Lord.
