The Merit of the Blog

Late one night - perhaps many, a person sits in front of her computer and taps on boring grey or white and sometimes black pieces of plastic. An uninspired habitat breeds the same boring, sterile surplus of words that get vomitted out onto cyberspace, then to blogs like this, and ... in an instant, a single-ness of purpose is born in the blog.

Singleness of purpose is often a boon to things such as art, sports, essays and any sort of board-game, but in blogs it is absolutely necessary. Often the most single that any purpose gets is "My Zany Days in Slough". Etc, Etc. Well, if everyone was so zany and crazy and truly was so random, there would be no need for a blog because we have television and radio and podcasting and the truly zany ones would have no time for typing.

Then there are us leftovers who will on the odd month comit words to a page groaning as we type. We are the un-zany ones who cannot really type, cannot spell and are not interesting enough to be put in front of a big glass lens and smiling directors. We are the ones who type this boring stuff because if we don't then no one will. it is like pushing a marble up a windscreen with naught else but your nose, it is like bleeding in the wind - and in that breath, godspeed all of you who will be zany.
